Back again!

Clearly, this website has been lacking severely in the update area. For those of you who have been reading, I had a baby five months ago from today. It has been a little hectic around our house, but I’ve been steadily booking trips for other families during that time.

In three weeks, however, we will be making our first official family trip to Florida (yes, with a five month old. Pray for us.) Since there was a great spring room deal going on at Disney World for the week we will be down, we are staying two nights at Coronado Springs resort. It has been about twenty years since the last time I’ve stayed there and lots of renovations. It will be like staying at a whole new resort from my memory!

At the end of last week, I got an email that our magic bands were shipping out, so now the tracking is on. We are literally counting down the days (23) until we will be heading down to the Orlando sun. Since we don’t have park tickets, we are going to take advantage of our resort pool and the bus system over to Downtown Disney. Remember Earl of Sandwich?? You better believe we will be eating there at least once.

Hopefully the kidlet will be just as interested and excited about exploring as we are; prepare for plenty of pictures to come.

Golfing in a Winter Wonderland

Posted on June 19, 2014 by Laura Posted in Activities .

A lot of people don’t even realize that Walt Disney World has two putt putt golf sites.  They do.  And they are a blast.  When I was in Florida for my 30th birthday, we decided to check out the Winter Summerland one.  It has an overall Christmas theme and has two different courses; one summer and one winter, naturally.

It's golf time!

It’s golf time!

When we arrived, we decided to try out the winter side.  Since it was February and evening, there weren’t a lot of people there, which let us take our time and we used those extra minutes to goof off and snap pictures.  It started out normal enough:

As we made our way around, we took a lot photo opportunities because each hole you get to play is fun.  Obviously someone put a lot of thought into the decorations and obstacles.

One of the most fun holes to play on this course features Frosty the Snowman.  Frosty likes to play a prank on unsuspecting guests who come near him, but I won’t ruin the surprise.

Since there weren’t many others playing, we finished rather quickly and decided to play the summer course as well.  Even though the winter side is my favorite, the summer one is still pretty great.

Yeah, putt putt!

Yeah, putt putt!

Here is a nice bonus of getting a Magic Your Way package for your vacation; each room will get two vouchers good for two rounds of miniature golf before 4pm.  Check it out one morning before hitting a park or two; it’s a nice little family detour.

No, thank YOU!
